Online Video Marketing – Is it Really For Me?
Even though video is easier to use and produce, it has not been a plug and play process.  But changes in technology have made it possible for you to do this yourself…and in a way that you won’t embarrass yourself.
Sure, everyone is telling you to make a video, just make a video. But you don’t want to make just any video, do you? You want to make something that won’t embarrass you or hurt the image of your company. In fact, you know that with the amazing tools available now to get your video seen all over the world, if you do it badly, you could possibly put yourself out of business.
And there are just so many things it seems you have to learn. The real problem isn’t lack of knowledge, it’s overwhelm of knowledge.
But really, can I do this myself?  Just because I can write a sentence, doesn’t mean it’s creative writing.  Or just because I can strum a guitar doesn’t make me a musician.  And just because you can turn on a video camera doesn’t make you a videographer either.
All of these activities take skill, a little experience and the right tools.
And you have those skills; you just haven’t connected the dots between them yet.  But before you even try to connect the dots, you go into overwhelm.  That’s where we can help.
Now that you know the problem, what’s the solution?  Video Tools classes.  We offer several classes that will walk you through overwhelm to successful video production.  We want you to find what we call, your Video Voice!  Is that okay with you?  We hope so.
.Three reasons why you should attend
Reason 1: You learn in a small classroom type environment.  You receive individualized attention.
Reason 2: The handouts make it easy to remember what you learned when you begin to work at home on your blog or introductory video.
Reason 3:  We’re only a phone call away (really, we return phone calls– or email us) for your follow-up questions.
The bonus: With your attendance, you get a free, powerful eBook!
What the free e-book is about
After more than 7 years in the production business, we’ve learned about the value of video.  We’ll send you a free copy of The Value of Video which helps you understand how valuable video really is to your marketing plan.  Just email us at info@vonhenry.com and we’ll send you a free copy.
Finally…
VonHenry Media is planning a series of classes on simple production, writing your 30 second spot that could be a web or TV commercial, Looking and sounding your best on camera in early January.  The types of videos you create are perfect for people to know like and trust you before they buy.  You’ll be able to complete a secure registration through Eventbrite; and the cost will be affordable.
Watch for more details in late December and early January.
Warmly,
Yvonne & Hank Charneskey

YOU ARE THE HERO OF YOUR BUSINESS

The Hero’s Journey, by Joseph Campbell, has been used as a story telling theme in movies since movies were invented.  The hero goes on a quest, has adventures, is changed by his adventures, and then returns to his home and incorporates the changes experienced while away from home.  Samwise Gangee, Frodo’s friend in The Lord of the Rings, is a good example.  He became Mayor when he returned, incorporating changes into the lives of hobbits living in his village.

You are a hero too.  You started your business, you’ve had adventures and learned a great deal about what it takes to provide a great service or product and now you want to bring that knowledge into the lives of your potential clients.  A classic hero’s journey.

USE VIDEO TO TELL YOUR STORY

Using our video skills and story telling tools allows your potential clients to see the hero that you are…featuring YOUR PRODUCT or SERVICE.  You are the hero of your business!  VonHenry Media, Your Creative Media Team, adds motion graphics to logos for videos and websites.  We are also working with virtual sets to create the feel of a story in your videos and to add a lot of info into a short 3 minute video.  Here’s an example

NAME CHANGE

You may have noticed that we changed our name to VonHenry Media Inc. earlier this year.  It was such a natural evolution from being a production company to working with digital media of all types, we hardly noticed until one day we took stock and said, this calls for reinventing ourselves.  Our new catch phrase is, Your Creative Media Team.

NEW BUSINESS CARDS

We have new business cards designed by Kim Anton, of Anton Graphics here in Clearwater.  Kim’s work is very good and we’re glad to have found her through our NPI Networking Group. (http://www.anton-graphics.com/)  She is also designing a rack card for us that we’ll leave with potential clients.

New business card

The back of the card lists what we do; TV & web commercials, corporate & training videos, photography, audio, etc. along with our QR code.

If you’ve wondered what it takes to produce your own TV commercial, it could look like this one currently airing on Bay News 9 in the northern part of Pinellas County.

Call us to discuss the options available for you to have your own 30 second spot airing on Bright House–in only  a few weeks from start to finish and airing on cable TV!  It’s more affordable than you’d think.

A vacation is a time to renew and rest.  We recently spent 9 days on the road travelling through the South, mostly in North Carolina.  We were in Hot Springs, located just about an hour north and west of Asheville, to soak in the thermal waters.  We hadn’t really had a vacation since last September.

When we couldn’t stay an extra day in Hot Springs, we decided we were close enough to travel to Pikeville, KY, one of the Hatfield-McCoy feud sites.  We had just viewed the History channel’s version of the story and decided to attend a Family Reunion held in Matewan, KY each year.

As it turns out, they buried the hatchet a long time ago.  But this new attention on their history has brought a ton of people into the area for the reunion/festival.

We even got into the act, interviewing a historian and some people attending the festival from Ohio.  Hank edited it together na here’s the result.

We’ll be adding photos in another post very soon.  Yvonne hadn’t seen North Carolina in the summer time since she was a young girl.  It’s so beautiful and lush at that time of year.  Photos coming soon!!!

Many of you have asked for the name of the product we use to control shine on camera.  It’s a great bronzing powder product from Mac Cosmetics called Golden (link to purchase:  http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/shaded/159/302/Bronzing-Powder/index.tmpl )

We’ve used it on pale Celtic skin like mine all the way up to dark Nigerian type skin tones.  And it imparts an even tone that refracts light…which the camera reads as smooth and beautiful or handsome, as the case may be.

For men, we usually recommend some type of Carmex or Blistex type of lip product to complete what we call “a healthy look.”

For women, we usually just lightly dust Golden over their existing makeup–and in both cases, we use a Kabuki brush for the best coverage.  Google the term and you’ll find a range from $6 on up to $50 and more.

Google Kabuki and find brushs at all price points.

Bonus…women can wear this powder during the day and your skin will look finished and slightly warmer but not over the top.  Very nice.

I recently learned that Dr. Oz had recommended a product called Algenerist.  It’s a temporary wrinkle fixer that seems to work immediately to plump wrinkles and over time to lessen the visible effects of deep wrinkles.  Based on alguronic acid, it’s particularly concentrated and fixes those deep wrinkles within 90 seconds–or so they claim.

From the Algenerist website:  “When scientifically tested, Alguronic Acid demonstrated significant anti-aging properties, increasing elastin synthesis by up to 32%* and cellular regeneration by up to 55%*.

I plan on purchasing a bottle and trying it to see what it does before I wholeheartedly recommend it to you.  It’s available on their website, (google Algenerist) or on the QVC website.  But you gotta trust Dr. Oz.

VonHenry Media will soon feature interviews with other Tampa Bay experts on makeup for TV, clothing experts as well as tips on the best hair that will look great on your videos.  Contact us if you need a referral to a consultant in any of these areas.  727-535-5425 or info@vonhenry.com.

Jo-Ann Sloan, Real Estate Instructor with Coldwell-Banker in the Tampa Bay area, recently asked us to produce a film about her skills as a Real Estate Instructor.  She was interested in showcasing the many courses she is certified to teach, including REBAC.

She chose three of her very successful former students to come in and film testimonials.  Yvonne interviewed everyone and Hank intercut the footage to produce this unique marketing film for Jo-Ann.

VonHenry Media recently taught a Video Tools for Real Estate Professionals for Coldwell-Banker.  Jo-Ann brought the people in–we took care of everything else using Eventbrite.

Just like you, we think a good story begs to be shared.  Everywhere you look these days, marketing people are using stories to sell their products.  Research indicates that our brains are wired to learn from stories.

People want to hear your story…

Do you think you are a good storyteller?  I’ve always thought I was a horrible story teller until we began working with film.  I’m a visual storyteller, which is perfect for what we do.  We are also skilled at helping people tell their stories on camera.
Whether it’s a film about a story about your business or the story of your family’s experiences, VonHenry Media guides you through the process.  We are skilled visual storytellers and your story is begging to be told…how could it get any better than that.
If your family wants to leave a legacy for future generations, imagine sitting down with us and going over photographs that are arranged in a way that tells your family’s story the easiest way possible.  Flushing out the details of the story with questions from us that are later edited out and you have a birds eye view of how it works.
Our new cinematic HD camera (scheduled to arrive in July) just makes it look like it belongs on TV.  Sort of like icing on the cake.
Committing to telling the story of your family is something that grows in importance once you begin thinking about it.  If you want to talk about this with us, give us a call and let’s talk about how we can help you leave a visual legacy for future generations to come.
VonHenry Media

When we work with you to put together your TV commercial, we usually gather information that helps us target a production that meets your needs. The first four questions are about your media buy. Question 5-10 help you clarify what you’re doing with producing the actual commercial. Answering all the questions below helps you clarify how you’ll approach this expenditure and get the most for your money.

Got Questions??

MEDIA BUY QUESTIONS

1) What type of person do you want to reach? For example, in Pinellas County you have three zones you can sell to, North, Mid and South County. Each zone carries a different rate structure?
2) Do you have an idea of what network, news program, etc. and do you think your new clients might be watching?
3) What is your budget for advertising? To be effective, someone needs to see your ad 3.1 times. So perhaps you might saturate your first week and then the three remaining weeks, fewer ads. There are several strategies that work, it’s just up to you to choose one (Don’t worry, we’ll meet with you before hand to nail all this down). We’ve seen businesses spend as little as $400/month and that works for their business. This company has been on the air for several years now and they have penetrated the market and a lower price point works for them.
4) Do we have enough time to produce a commercial, using some of the guidelines below? Usually about two weeks lead time to produce and edit an effective 30 second spot.

PRODUCTION PROPOSAL QUESTIONS

5) What is your general project concept?

6) Who are you trying to reach? It’s important to know who your video is targeting. Please provide a targeted demographic (e.g., 25-54, Females, $50,00+ income, Soccer Moms, Sports fanatics, customers with medical problems, people who drive red trucks, etc.)

7) Where will your production take place? (on location or in our studio or both)

8) Target Production Completion date & links to videos you like a lot::

9) Do you have graphics, logo, music, Design, Branding components, etc.?

10) What is your budget for production?
Answering these 10 questions will start you on your way to producing a commercial and make it easier to accomplish your goals. We want you to achieve your sales goals for 2012. TV is one of the easiest ways we’ve seen to do that.
